A case in Texas has raised serious concerns after an incident involving a young student inside a classroom.
T’Nae Harrell, 36, a special education aide at Legacy Elementary School in the Frenship Independent School District near Lubbock, was arrested following an investigation into her conduct on April 29, 2026.
According to court records and police reports, Harrell made inappropriate comments about a 7-year-old student during class before calling the child over and lifting her shirt in front of others present.
Multiple adults in the room reportedly witnessed the incident, and authorities stated that it was also captured on classroom security footage.
Reports further indicated that Harrell made an inappropriate comparison involving the child while the incident was taking place.
School administrators were notified on May 4, prompting an immediate investigation by district police. Harrell was removed from the classroom and placed on leave the same day.
On May 8, she was terminated from her position. Later that evening, after being interviewed by investigators and admitting to the actions described, she was taken into custody and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
Harrell is facing a state jail felony charge of voyeurism involving a minor on school premises. If convicted, the charge carries a potential sentence ranging from six months to two years in jail.
Her bond has been set at $50,000.
The case has raised broader concerns about student safety and oversight within school environments.
