Law enforcement authorities in Mobile County, Alabama, are investigating the deaths of three family members discovered in their residence early Monday morning. The victims have been identified as 46-year-old Lisa Ferguson, her 17-year-old daughter Keziah Luker, and 12-year-old son Thomas Cordell.
The discovery was made at approximately 2:30 a.m. at the family’s residence on Auble Moody Road in Wilmer, an unincorporated community located approximately 25 miles northwest of Mobile, near the Mississippi state line. According to Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch, the victims were found in separate rooms throughout the house.
Authorities revealed that Luker was seven to eight months pregnant at the time of her death. The father of her unborn child initially raised concerns after noticing unusual activity on Luker’s phone during the night. This prompted a family member to visit the residence to check on their welfare, leading to the discovery.
Sheriff Burch described finding all three victims with their hands secured behind their backs using zip ties or flex cuffs. The mother sustained stab wounds, the teenage daughter suffered gunshot wounds, and the younger child sustained severe injuries to his throat. The sheriff characterized the injuries to the 12-year-old as particularly severe.
Investigators observed signs of disturbance throughout the residence, including opened dresser drawers and general disarray, suggesting someone had searched through the property. These observations have led authorities to consider this a targeted incident rather than a random act of violence.
The presence of restraints at the scene indicates premeditation, according to law enforcement officials. Sheriff Burch emphasized that the perpetrators arrived equipped with zip ties, suggesting advance planning.
