A case in Gainesville, Georgia, has drawn attention after a young child was found to have suffered multiple serious injuries over a period of time.
Amy Suzan Pittman, 23, is currently being held in the Hall County Jail without bond. Authorities say she is facing six counts of first-degree cruelty to children and six counts of aggravated battery, totaling twelve felony charges.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the injuries to her 20-month-old son occurred on at least three separate occasions between April 14 and April 30 at their home on Sailors Avenue.
Medical evaluations revealed multiple fractures, including one in the child’s right arm, two in his left arm, breaks in both collarbones, and a fracture in his left leg. Healthcare providers also noted that some of the injuries were already in the process of healing, indicating that they occurred over time rather than all at once.
The case was initially flagged on April 22 by the Hall County Department of Family and Children Services, prompting a criminal investigation. Pittman was taken into custody on May 1 after being interviewed by investigators.
The child is currently receiving treatment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Officials have described the injuries as serious but not life-threatening.
The case continues to be investigated as authorities review the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
