A tragic road rage incident in the Las Vegas area has led to serious charges against a 22-year-old man following the death of an 11-year-old boy.
Tyler Matthew Johns appeared in Clark County District Court, where tensions ran high as members of both families filled the courtroom. During the hearing, a victim’s advocate claimed that Johns smiled and laughed toward the grieving family, an allegation his defense attorney strongly denied. Presiding Judge Jacqueline Bluth warned that any such behavior would not be tolerated.
The incident took place on the morning of November 14, 2025, along the 215 Beltway near Henderson. According to police, Johns and the boy’s stepfather became involved in a confrontation while driving, pulling alongside each other and exchanging words.
Investigators say the situation escalated when Johns fired a shot into the back of the SUV.
The bullet struck 11-year-old Brandon Dominguez-Chavarria, who was seated in the back while on his way to school. Emergency responders transported him to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, where he later d*ed.
Johns was taken into custody at the scene. He now faces multiple charges, including first-degree mrder with a dadly weapon and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. He has pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors have stated that they will not pursue the d*ath penalty.
The case has drawn widespread attention, raising serious concerns about road rage incidents and how quickly confrontations can escalate into irreversible consequences.
