Kentucky Man Charged After Violent Dispute Over Wi-Fi Access

A case in Pulaski County, Kentucky, has drawn attention after a dispute over internet access escalated into a violent confrontation.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on May 3, 2026, at approximately 5:43 a.m. following a 911 call reporting an assault. The caller told authorities that a man, identified as Jonathan Gross, had attacked him and his girlfriend with a baseball bat.

The caller was able to leave the scene and contact emergency services, while the female victim remained at the residence.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman outside with a head injury and bleeding. She reported that Gross had struck her and was still inside the home. Officers attempted to get him to come out before eventually entering and taking him into custody.

Investigators allege that Gross had been using the couple’s Wi-Fi connection without permission. After the connection was turned off, he reportedly confronted them, made threats, and later returned to carry out the assault.

Gross now faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted m*rder, two counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.

He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $1 million cash-only bond.

The case remains under investigation.
