Actor Faizon Love, known for his role as the department store manager in the holiday film Elf, is currently in custody in Florida over a child support case.
The 58-year-old is being held in a Tampa jail after a judge found him in contempt of court tied to unpaid child support.
According to court records, Love previously told the court that he is unemployed and facing serious financial hardship.
He reported earning zero income in 2025 and stated that his highest annual income over the past five years was around $13,000.
Love also argued that he is unable to pay the approximately $250,000 in back child support that has been claimed in the case.
He missed a scheduled court hearing in April 2026, citing a medical issue. However, the judge was not convinced by the explanation.
In May, the court ruled him in contempt and ordered him to serve 90 days in jail.
The case remains ongoing.
