As the investigation into Christina Formella continued, the scope of the case expanded far beyond the initial charges.
Prosecutors added 52 additional counts, bringing the total to 55. These include charges related to criminal sexual assault, aggravated sexual abuse, grooming, and solicitation. Authorities say the expanded charges reflect what they believe was a prolonged pattern of misconduct over an extended period of time.
Key evidence in the case includes digital records, such as text messages and data recovered from phones. According to reports, these materials helped investigators piece together the timeline and nature of the alleged interactions.
The discovery reportedly made by the student’s mother played a central role in bringing the case to light, while additional findings from Formella’s own device added further detail to the investigation.
Formella’s defense team has strongly denied the allegations. They have argued that some of the evidence is circumstantial, misinterpreted, or lacks proper context. They have also raised concerns about how the case has been discussed publicly.
While the legal process continues, the court has imposed strict conditions. Formella is prohibited from having contact with minors, must avoid school property, and is subject to electronic monitoring. Additional restrictions include designated buffer zones to limit her movement.
If convicted on the charges, she could face a lengthy prison sentence.
The case continues to draw attention as it moves through the court system, with both sides preparing for what could be a closely watched legal battle.
