New Details Emerge in Death of Teen on Carnival Cruise Ship

What began as a family cruise ended in a tragedy that is still unfolding.

Newly unsealed federal court documents are shedding light on the final hours of 18-year-old Anna Kepner, who died aboard the Carnival Horizon in November 2025.

According to investigators, Kepner entered cabin 8343 at approximately 7:38 p.m. on November 6. She was last seen alive just minutes later, around 7:51 p.m., when her brother briefly stopped by.

Court records state that her 16-year-old stepbrother, Timothy Hudson, had already entered the cabin earlier and remained inside for most of the next 18 hours, leaving only briefly.

The timeline that follows has raised serious questions.

Just after midnight on November 7, Kepner’s brother returned to the cabin but was unable to enter immediately, as Hudson reportedly blocked the door for about two minutes. Once inside, he stayed in the room and slept there for nearly nine hours.

Authorities say he had no idea his sister’s body was hidden just feet away.

The next morning, a cleaning crew member made the discovery.

Kepner was found wrapped in a blanket and concealed underneath the bed. Investigators say a box of life vests had been placed in a way that further obscured her from view.

According to court documents, Hudson allegedly hid the body after the incident and destroyed Kepner’s phone before discarding it.

He has since been charged with first-degree murder.

As the case moves forward, the newly revealed details continue to raise disturbing questions about what happened inside that cabin and how long it went unnoticed.
