A teacher is now facing multiple felony charges after what authorities describe as an inappropriate relationship with a student.
According to investigators, 31-year-old Keisha Stuart, a teacher at a private school in Wisconsin, has been charged with three felony counts following an investigation into her alleged involvement with a 14-year-old boy in her class.
The case began when school staff discovered a letter written by Stuart and addressed to the student. Officials described the contents as concerning enough to immediately contact law enforcement.
As the investigation progressed, police interviewed the student, who stated that the relationship had crossed boundaries. According to the criminal complaint, the teen described multiple visits to Stuart’s apartment, including occasions when he had run away from home.
Authorities allege that during these visits, Stuart made inappropriate advances toward the student.
Investigators also recovered evidence from the boy’s phone, including a video that allegedly showed Stuart removing her clothing, along with other material that contributed to the charges.
Court records show Stuart was arrested around May 16 and booked into the Winnebago County Jail.
She later appeared in court, where a judge set her cash bond at $40,000.
Her next court date is scheduled for June 4 as the case continues.
As with all criminal cases, the charges remain allegations, and Stuart is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
